ZFS announced

Gary Combs dropped a little secret in the ZFS-discuss mailing list.

ZFS (as you've tested in opensolaris) will release with Solaris 10 6/06. The ability to use ZFS for the root file system will show up in a later release of opensolaris and then followed by a Solaris 10 update release.

So there you have it, ZFS is predicted to be released to be used in production in June. Of course I have been using it for months with my data and have never lost a bit of data. The discuss list (web interface) doesn’t have this email yet, but if I get bored tomorrow, I will add a link to the quote.
